Camp Altadena Library Summer Challenge
June 6 – August 8, 2026
Join us for Camp Altadena Library Summer Challenge! Altadenans of all ages log 300 minutes of reading and complete the Community & Explorer activities to reach the registration, midpoint, and completion goals and earn prizes.
How to participate:
Sign up and collect your registration prize.
Log 300 minutes of reading to reach your midpoint goal and collect that prize.
Earn the Explorer and Community goals by completing 3 activities for each throughout the summer.
Once you read 300 minutes and earn both activity goals, win a completion prize!
Summer Challenge Signup
You will soon be able to sign up for our Summer Challenge:
during our kickoff event on Saturday, June 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bob Lucas Memorial Library, 2659 N. Lincoln
at either our Bob Lucas Library or Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park
with our staff at with one of our 6 weekly Curiosity Connection van outreach locations
or online at https://altadenalibrary.beanstack.org (starting June 6)
Prizes
Each age group receives these respective prizes for completing each step in the Challenge. Completion prizes can be picked up starting June 14. Prizes are available while supplies last and must be picked up from an Altadena Library location by August 15, 2026.
Children (Ages 0-12)
Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded pencil kit
Midpoint: Book
Complete the Challenge: choice of LEGO or Squishmallow
Teens (Ages 13-17/Grades 8-12th)
Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded cap hat
Midpoint: $10 gift card to Neon Retro Arcade or Octavia’s Bookshelf
Complete the Challenge: LEGO set + entry to into drawing for Nintendo Switch Lite
Adults (Ages 18+)
Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded carabiner
Midpoint: $5 coffee gift card
Complete the Challenge: bear-shaped multitool
Come by our Bob Lucas Library, Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park, or one of our scheduled Curiosity Connection van stops to pick up prizes.
