Join the Largest Book Club on the West Coast this Spring!

Altadena Library is part of One Book, One Coast, a community reading program that brings together library systems from California, Washington (state), and Oregon to celebrate literacy, learning, community and civil discourse. Participating libraries read & discuss They Called Us Enemy by George Takei.  

From April 1 - May 31, we invite our patrons to check out a physical or digital copy of this critically acclaimed graphic memoir.

About They Called Us Enemy

Actor/author/activist George Takei’s emotional graphic memoir, co-authored with Justin Eisinger, Steven Scott, and illustrated by Harmony Becker, chronicles his childhood imprisoned in American concentration camps during World War II.
