Library Services to Teachers
The Altadena Library District offers a number of services to support teachers both inside and outside of the classroom, including:
- TEACHER CARD: Borrow library materials for 6 weeks with no fines. Replacement fees may be waived for up to 5 books. For more information about Teacher Cards call the library at (626) 798-0833 or ask at the Circulation desk.
- LIBRARY VISITS: Bring your class to the library to hear stories, take a tour, learn how to find and use library resources, or get library cards. Call Children's Services at (626) 798-0833 ext. 109 to arrange a visit to the Main Library. To schedule a visit to the Bob Lucas Branch Library, call (626) 798-8338.
- CLASS VISITS: A Librarian can visit local, elementary school classrooms and conduct storytime. To schedule a visit call the Main Library at (626)798-0833 (ask for the Children's Department) or the Bob Lucas Branch Library at (626) 798-8338.
- FREE TUTORING: The library provides free access to Brainfuse for all students with Altadena Library cards. Students can receive one-on-one help in math, science, English, and history on demand from professional tutors. Tutors are available in 4th-12th grade subjects, including Advanced Placement level courses.
