Welcome to the Teen Space!

Welcome to the Teen Space at the Altadena Library! Here we celebrate freedom, wonder, empathy, and justice. Here we laugh, talk, create, explore, question, listen, and love. The Teen Reference Desk, in the Teen Space at the Main Library, is staffed most afternoons from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Stop by and get to know us — we are all here to help you.

Welcome Teen Volunteers
We invite all teens 14-17 in the Altadena area to become part of our teen volunteer program. Volunteer hours qualify for school service requirements, and you get to be a part of our incredible Altadena Library team!

Here’s how easy it is to join.

  1. All new volunteers must fill out our online application.
  2. After you have filled out the form, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the Teen Volunteer Program Orientation.
  3. Once you have completed orientation, we will provide you with access to the summer volunteer schedule and the shift request form. Some shifts can accommodate unlimited volunteers, while others have a capacity. We use a schedule to ensure that everyone gets as many hours as possible.

The Teen Librarian will contact you with the final schedule of your assigned shifts. Mark your calendar as soon as you can!

Stop by the Teen Space or email us at teens@altadenalibrary.org to learn more about the volunteer program.
