Throughout the months of March and April, the Reading Court and Community Room will display the artwork of two talented local artists.
From March 2 through April 29, artist Linda Ternoir will showcase her paintings and ink drawings in the Reading Court at the Main Library. Of her art, Linda says:
“I paint with acrylic paint. I draw with ink. I work from imagination and memory. Most of my work gives a view of people. I also have an affinity for animals. I become the choreographer leading the eye of the viewer into the performance of the art.”
From March 7 through April 29, visual artist Kres Mersky will showcase her collection in the Community Room at the Main Library. Of her art, Kres says:
“I’ve been making art, writing, acting, drawing, and painting all my life. It seems it’s what I have to do. I love exploring the anatomy of humans and animals, trying to capture a likeness for sure, but it’s more than that. I’m looking for the subjects authentic spirit and aliveness.
Creating collages is a wonderful form of storytelling. Putting together the disparate papers, photos, and found objects is like working a puzzle where finally some tale is told. Hopefully, all my imparts compassion, humor, the absurd and general enjoyment.”
Local artist, writer, and performer Kres Mersky invites you to an Artist Reception on Monday, April 15 at 7:00pm to showcase her drawings, collages, and paintings on exhibition at the Altadena Library.
