Catch the Reading Bug!

June 20th through August 1st

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, children of all ages and reading abilities are invited to join this year’s FREE Summer Reading Club. The purpose of this program is to encourage children to get in the habit of reading every day and to spark in them a life-long love of reading and learning. Participation in this program can also help children retain their language skills through the summer.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You may register for the reading program at the Main Library or the Bob Lucas Branch Library any time starting June 20th.
  2. Check out and read Altadena Library District books. Set a goal to read 20-30 minutes each day.
  3. We’ll be offering a variety of programs, give-aways, and contests all summer so pick up a list of events and visit the library often.
  4. Everyone who completes the program by reading for a minimum of 18 hours by August 1st will receive a special reward.
