Best-selling novelist, award-winning poet, screenwriter, dramatist, journalist, commentator and creative writing professor at USC, Jervey Tervalon, will be presenting a workshop for writers of all ages and experience levels through the process of telling their story. The workshop is ideal for participants looking to develop their skill at chronicling their life stories, assist others who hold valuable oral histories by preserving their written history, or who want to jumpstart a variety of writing in a supportive and as inspiring environment!

The Friends of the Altadena Library present a free workshop entitled “Inspiration,
Perspiration, and Dedication—How to Use What You’ve Got to Write What You Want” by
best-selling author, Dorothy Randall Gray.  Gray, a nationally acclaimed writing workshop
leader and motivational speaker, has captivated television, radio and university audiences
throughout the U. S.  and abroad. Both new and seasoned writers will gain much from her
inspired teachings in this stimulating participatory workshop. 

Children, put on your pajamas, grab a bedtime buddy, and Join us for stories, songs and a bedtime snack! Children of all ages and their families are welcome. (NOTE: There is no story time Monday, August 30th.)

Children ages 3-5 and their parents/caregivers, join us for a fun and unique storytime with wonderful stories, crafts, fingerplays, snacks and our musical parade! (NOTE: There is no story time September 1st or 8th.)

Parents/caregivers and children 2 years and younger, come and join us as we interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long followed by 10-15 minutes of creative play with toys provided by the library. (NOTE: There is no story time September 2nd or 9th.)
