Children’s Library Clerk 1 - Part Time (19 hours) - Closes July 31, 2017

Are you inspired by an opportunity to engage and participate in transformative experiences for the children of our community?  The Altadena Library District is seeking an energetic, motivated, and imaginative Library Clerk to join our Youth Services department.
As a member of our Youth Services Team, you are the gatekeeper to the magical world of literature and learning!  You are a friendly and approachable person, to whom kids gravitate.  Working with the public to provide the best possible library experience is the foundation of what you do.  You will collaborate with your teammates to assist with our innovative programs.  You are excited to reach out to the community, to offer readers' advisory services, to help maintain the collection, and to connect our customers with the information they seek.  Your schedule will include some evening and weekend hours.  Spanish language skills are desirable but not required.

The Altadena Library is transforming into the community’s most valued resource and we are adding to our team. This is an opportunity for an innovative individual to use their creativity, imagination, skills and experience to provide assistance in the Collection Development Department in all phases of operation.

The ideal candidate has a desire to assist in creating an accurate and customer friendly ILS. You have exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong desire to be part of a culture committed to delivering outstanding customer service for those inside and outside of the organization. You are highly detail oriented and organized. You have a passion for providing an excellent collection for the public. 

In addition to the qualifications listed in the Position Description, the ideal candidate will be community oriented, enthusiastic about promoting the library to a broader audience, able to engage new technologies, and genuinely enjoy serving a diverse population base.
